Divine Mercy Chaplet – ‘Jesus, I Trust in You’ and St Faustina

The Chaplet of Divine Mercy is a beautiful prayer that can be prayed on ordinary rosary beads. This lovely devotion was given to Saint Maria Faustina by Jesus in 1935 through a mystical experience. Jesus told Saint Faustina,

“Encourage souls to say the Chaplet which I have given you” (Diary, 1541). He also told her, “I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in My mercy” (687) and “Through the Chaplet you will obtain everything, if what you ask for is compatible with my will” (1731).

The purpose of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is to sinners and the dying a way to receive great graces if they only trust in the Mercy of God. It is appropriate to recite the chaplet of Divine Mercy at any time. However, many people choose to recite it at 3:00PM each day since this is the hour of great mercy.

At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy. In this hour, I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion (1320).

Many people pray the rosary daily, but why not “kick it up” a notch and add the Chaplet of Divine Mercy to your daily prayers? It is relatively quick and simple to pray.

The Saints Market Catholic Store sells beautiful Divine Mercy chaplets, cds with the Divine Mercy Chaplet song, Divine Mercy medals with Saint Faustina and Jesus, Divine Mercy blankets and tapestries, framed ‘Jesus, I Trust in You’ and Divine Mercy Image prints, and Divine Mercy statues.
